Positive and Negative Behaviours
Your job as a leader is to aim for Positive Behaviour.
The human capital of your employees is only utilised when they have a positive behaviour attitude * One of your most important tasks is to bring out employee’s positive behaviour * Forms of positive behaviour are described below * Make sure employees feel their drives can be positively expressed

Conditions for positive behaviours.
* The employee must feel competent. * The organisation must allow room for the employee to apply this competency. Sound leadership leads to people assessing their own competency positively and being able to grow – this concerns fundamental thoughts about happiness and positive behaviour: * Positive action to create or restore the balance amongst drives is an important source of happiness, * The action should fall between boring and stress producing.

Leaders can only be POSITIVE.
Your duty is always to display positive behaviour – you can only bring out your employees positive behaviour when you display it yourself. Negative behaviour from leaders and managers gets through to employees very quickly. This requires a certain denial of the leaders own emotions – the same mechanisms that cause negative behaviour in employees also operates in leaders. BUT – you cannot show it.
Do not convert negative feelings into negative behaviour.
Leaders are required to master their behaviour more than others – but having to always show positive behaviour can be hard! When you feel you are gravitating towards negative behaviours, look for solutions that offer room for positive behaviours – this is a crucial element of leadership. Those who select/ judge leaders should rate this element highly.
